Reviews[]
In 2014, Mark Koval, the composer, made this statements as part of the 3rd Volume of Original Soundtracks from Batman: The Animated Series.
- "For the episode, Walker resurrects her towering Man-Bat theme, with swooping, soaring statements as the creature tangles with Batman across the streets and skies of Gotham City. This time around, the music is punctuated by a repeated, high-pitched orchestral "pinging" sound- a musical corollary to the echolocation pulses used by the monster to track its prey. This is particularily effective during the first chase sequence, which Timm called "one of the most amazing set pieces in the entire series." When Francine is outed as the creature at the end of second act, Walker introduces a new "Woman-Bat" motif: a series of rising three-note figures that complements rather than suplements the Man-Bat theme, adding an extra jolt of excitement to the brilliantly scored and animated final battle in the sky."
