  • It was in both the book and movie.

    • 1. No, it was not in the book. I checked.
      2. Yes, it was in the movie, (although as Kathleen, not "Catherine") but anyway, The Killing Joke has nothing to do with "Batman: The Animated Series" or "The New Batman Adventures". It is not even part of the DC Animated Universe.

Just because Conroy, Hamill and Strong reprised their roles in the film, doesn't mean it's set in the same universe. There is literally no relation between that movie and the TV series, so anything that happened in that movie doesn't apply to the BTAS characters.

  • hey I have a question. is it okay if I make pages about the finnish voice actors?. like you know. batman has a Finnish dub and I'm well. you know. a Finnish person here sooo. is it okay if I do that?

      Loading editor
    • Hi. You know, that sounds like a bigger project. Maybe we can create a new page for all the international dubs of the series instead of making single pages for each actor. The page could be called "International Voice Actors" and we can just include the names of the actors from all languages. Let me know what you think of the idea and I'll help you create the page.

        Loading editor
    • Sure. that will be fun to do

        Loading editor
    • The page is already created. Check it out: International Voice Actors.

All you need to do is copy the same format of the table for the Spanish dub and edit to include the Finnish actors. Let me know if you need help.

  • Why did you block me on the DC Database

    • An accident that has happened more than five times already. As I said, the block lasts for 2 hours. You can continue working then.... without "accidents".

    • Alright, once the block's lifted I'll just fix mispelled words only

  • Hi SforHope.

Was just wondering about the episode dialogue pages. I'm a little concerned as to whether having whole transcripts of episodes is actually legal? I'd hate for the wiki to get in trouble for piracy.

      Loading editor
    • Do you have any information?

TBH, there is not a specific law for this case. Scripts and Screenplays are fully copyrighted, yet there are hundreds of sites on the internet that post such copies.

A transcript however, is not the script, but a transformation from the VO into text. While some might claim that the VO is a reproduction of the screenplay (which is copyrighted); a transcript is different enough, since it doesn't reproduce the copyrighted material direcly.

There are several niches on the internet that are blatantly breaking copyright laws and who knows if they're making revenue out of it, but they're certainly going unpunished. We're not even making money out of this, and we are not the only wiki around trying to cover as much material without infringing the law.

All wikis are pretty much covered by the fact that we're non-profit. Worse thing that could happen, we get a DMCA notice to remove copyrighted content, and removing those pages can be done in the blink of an eye. But, do you think Warner Bros would really go to such leghts to take on us? I don't think so.

  • Hi.

I'm an admin at the DCAU Wiki and it has come to my attention that this wiki is using content from our wiki. While reusing material is acceptable under Wikia's Creative Commons license, this is only allowed as long as you provide proper attribution on every article and link back to the wiki from where you copied the material. There's an example of how to provide proper attribution in Wikia's Terms of Use here:

    http://www.wikia.com/Licensing#Using_Wikia_content

Please tag every article and/or template copied from the DCAU Wiki with the required attribution.

    Thanks.

Although sometimes, copies are better than the original, wouldn't you agree?

      Paradox.

    • Thanks man. I thought it would be a nice touch.

Also, I would've replied earlier, but Wikia was just a mess yesterday.

    • There. It looks good actually. The only downside is that when using Desxtop XL (Higher than 1700x1000px) I can actually see where the image ends on the sides. It's ok for desktop users, but it kinda looks bad for people with "batcomputer" monitors.

Edit: The bottom also looks kind of empty.

        Loading editor
    • I can fix that! I forgot to make the necessary changes so it looks good on XL computers. Also, you might want to change the wiki's spine color from red, to black, so it blends in with the wiki background.

  • I was wondering what you had planned for restructuring the episode pages. They're pretty basic at the moment and could definitely use a spruce up.

      Loading editor
    • Well, you see, I feel like we need more information about the episodes in general. I've been looking other TV Series Wikis and have found something that could improve the episode pages a lot. In one word: Tabs.

Take a look at the prototype: User:SforHope/sandbox

I decided to go with Tabs, because personally I find it very annoying when pages are too long and you have to scroll down a lot to get all the information. It's not attractive and I do lose interest when there's too many information. Tabs help distribute the information in sub pages that can be long or short and you can find what you're looking for more easily.

I decided to give the tabs a change of colors, because we're already too red and black....we don't wanna look like some communist s**it or something....jk.

Tell me what you think about it, I can use some feedback.

PS: I also changed Talk Pages to Message Walls. Hope you don't mind.

        Loading editor
    • Wow, that looks really impressive, a vast improvement. Well done!

        Loading editor
    • Thank You. I'll start adding the tabs and info as soon as I complete the missing episode pages. (Writing plots do take a while)

In the future I'd also like to redesign the main page. I have some ideas but I'm still working on that. I'll contact you when I have a solid idea of what would look better.
